L&D AMSTERDAM got off to a perfect start, taking a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first thanks to a two-run triple by their Cuban veteran Fausto Alvarez, who later scored on a groundout. One frame later they added a fourth run, when Zair Koeiman reached home on a dropped fly ball to center fielder Dennis van Hoof. The GREYS were able to cut the deficit in the third and fifth innings through a RBI double by van Hoof and a RBI single by Kevin Roevens, but the rain denied a successful ending for the comeback try.

Jos de Jong (AMS) started and allowed four hits, a run and three walks in four innings. Nick Stuifbergen (W 1-0) relieved him and picked up the win.
