Russia wins Prague Baseball Week 2020

Posted on October 7, 2020October 7, 2020 by philipp

Russia won the Prague Baseball Week 2020 this past weekend. They defeated the Czech national team 9-5 in the championship game on Saturday. The Czech team had won all three games prior to the final including a 10-5 victory over Russia. Russia went 2-1 in the preliminary phase to reach the final.

The International Stars, a selection of players from Prague and the Czech U18 National Team also participated in the tournament, which was postponed from early summer to the beginning of October. However after Covid-19 cases in the Czech Republic climbed heavily in the last few weeks several of the original planned participants had to opt out due to travel restrictions by their home countries.
