The Austrian Baseball League club UNION KUFSTEIN VIKINGS brings in a new head coach/player for the 2009 season. The 25-year-old Canadian Chris Piano replaces the Australian Todd Fairbrother, who cannot come back due to an injury. The infielder Piano last played Baseball during an exchange year in Australia, after being part of the Glanbrook Grizzlies in the Central Ontario Baseball League in his home country. He will arrive in Austria at the end of March. Last year’s vice champion KUFSTEIN opens the season on the road against the VIENNA DIVING DUCKS on April 19.
