The Czech Republic used a six-run fifth inning en route to beat Israel 7-4 on Saturday evening at the Europe/Africa Olympic Baseball Qualifier 2019 in Bologna. Israel still can clinch first place and a berth in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics with a victory over South Africa on Sunday.

Martin Cervenka and Matej Hejma homered for the Czech team, which celebrated its second win in four games in the tournament. Hejma scored twice, while Cervenka drove in three. Marek Minarik struck out ten in 6 2/3 innings for the win. Jeremy Bleich got charged for all six runs during the decisive rally to take the loss in relief. Danny Valencia hit his second home run of the event.
