Holland Series 2019: Curacao Neptunus strikes first

Curacao Neptunus has won game one of the best-of-seven Holland Series against L&D Amsterdam on Thursday evening. It was a back and forth battle, but in the end Rotterdam prevailed 6-4. Two runs in the bottom of the fifth gave them the lead for good. Kevin Kelly and Misja Harcksen shut the door with strong relief efforts after Diegomar Markwell had given up four runs on seven hits and four walks in six innings. Dwayne Kemp had four hits for Neptunus. Dudley Leonora scored twice. Benjamin Dille had two RBI. Gilmer Lampe had a home run for Amsterdam. He collected two runs and two RBI. Jim Ploeger issued eight hits, five runs and three base on balls in 4 1/3 innings to take the loss.
