U23 European Championship 2019: France joins Germany, Czech Republic and Belgium in Semis

The preliminary round at the U23 European Championship 2019 in Prague ended on Friday with four games. France clinched the fourth and last spot in the semifinals with an 8-2 win over Great Britain. They reached the semis as number-two seed from Group A and will face the Czech Republic, which won Group B thanks to a 10-1 rout against Belgium.

In the second semifinal Germany will take on Belgium. Defending champion Netherlands earned its first win of the tournament, edging out Germany 2-1 on a walk-off single in the seventh. In the fourth matchup on Friday Ukraine beat Croatia 9-2.
