WBSC U12 Baseball and Softball World Cups commence on Friday in Tainan City

The 2019 WBSC U12 Baseball World Cup commences for its fifth edition in Tainan City, Taiwan on Friday. Additionally for the first time ever a WBSC U12 Softball World Cup will be played as well.

For the U12 Baseball World Cup 12 teams are qualified, Italy and the Czech Republic are Europe’s representatives. In Group A Japan, Chinese Taipei, Cuba, Czech Republic, South Africa and Fiji will battle for a spot in the Super Round, while Group B consists of USA, Korea, Mexico, Australia, Venezuela and Italy. The top three of each preliminary round group advance to the Super Round Robin. With the top two playing in the final on August 4.

For the U12 Softball World Cup there will be four participants in the first edition with the Czech Republic, Indonesia, Peru and Chinese Taipei. They will be playing a double round robin during the first phase from July 26 to 29. Afterwards the top two play the final on July 30.
