Apparently slugging Mitch Nilsson is going to transfer from the Heidenheim Heidekoepfe to the Mannheim Tornados, following Julius Spann and new Tornados player manager Sascha Lutz. Nilsson hit a total of 22 home runs for the Heidekoepfe through regular season and playoffs combined last year. The 27-year-old suffered a gruesome injury during last year’s finals, but returned to the playing field in the Australian Baseball League a couple of weeks ago. Additionally it got revealed that Jay Pecci will serve as coach within the minor league system of the New York Mets organization this year. The US-American with Italian passport retired following the 2018 season from his active career with Heidenheim.
