Posted on October 25, 2018October 25, 2018 by philipp

A couple of German Baseball-Bundesliga announced new head coaches this week. Record title holder Mannheim Tornados have appointed Sascha Lutz as new manager. He is going to be a player-manager and coming from the Heidenheim Heidekoepfe, where he played the past five years. A teacher in real life he is going to transfer from Frankfurt to Mannheim. The Tornados had fired David Daniels during the last season.

In the northern division the Hamburg Stealers have signed David Wohlgemuth as new head coach, giving him a three-year contract. The 27-year-old is coming from the Dohren Wild Farmers, where he had been working the past two seasons, reaching the playoffs in both years. He is replacing Tim Crow at the helm.

Meanwhile in Dohren former catcher Caleb Fenimore is taking over as manager. He hung up his cleats following the 2018 season and is not going to coach the Wild Farmers. He will be supported on the coaching staff by Pedro Fernandez Ruiz, who will be responsible for the youth program of the club.

The Cologne Cardinals also will have a new head coach. Ben Barker is taking over on November 1. He is succeeding Carlos Mirabal. The US-American has played and coached in Germany before.
