With the Holland Series moving to Rotterdam’s Familie Stadion Curacao Neptunus also reached victory lane. On Sunday the reigning champion defeated L&D Amsterdam 4-1 to cut the deficit in the best-of-seven final series to 1-2. Back-to-back run-scoring singles by Gregory Muller and Shaldimar Daantji in the fourth innings broke a 1-1 tie and gave Curacao Neptunus a decisive 4-1 lead in the game. Elton Koeiman conceded only four hits, a run and two walks in 7 1/3 innings. Kyle Ward surrendered seven hits, four runs and a base on balls in 3 1/3 innings. The Pirates stayed in the game after he exited in the fourth thanks to Ron Schel’s excellent 4 2/3 innings of hitless relief.
