Notice how they never show attendance in their box scores? The only statistic which is missing.

This implies that the tournament — which was cancelled last year for financial problems — is not able to put fans in the stands. Will the next demise be this year? And will it be the last?

    Fred,

A quick research on the facebook pages of the tournament would gave shown you that all days but two were sold out BEFORE the tournament even started.
I cannot speak for the Tournament, but financial problems and failing to put fans in the stands are two different things.
A soccer world cup would have huge financial problems although selling out each game. Sports tournaments in general are not profitable without sponsors and public funding. And, if I remember correctly, these were the reasons why they put the honkbalweek on hold.

Your post explains a lot. (Not a Facebook guy.)

    Thanks for posting!

Tournament authorities announced the only sold-out games were those the Dutch team played in.

The average attendance was 1,750 per game, which is still respectable.
