The French Baseball and Softball Federation (FFBS), in partnership with the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC), organized its first technical commissioner clinic in Montigny-le-Bretonneux on 7-8 April, along with the opening day of the Division 1 Baseball season.

The clinic was instructed by André Lachance, WBSC certified trainer of technical commissioners.

A total of 12 participants attended the two-day clinic, which included a theoretical session on international sports and baseball rules, and a practical session at the opening match of the Baseball Division 1 on Sunday.

The WBSC is working closely with the FFBS to strengthen the growth of Baseball/Softball sport in France, host of the Olympic Games Paris 2024. Among other initiatives, in March the world governing body held its Executive Board meeting in the French capital and held a meeting with French Sports Ministry Laura Flessel. Earlier, the WBSC launched a version of its website in French and made a live demonstration of the new street discipline Baseball5 at the European Baseball and Softball congress, also in Paris.

Baseball/softball is played in over 140 countries around the world, and has been steadily increasing in Europe and worldwide.
