During the WBSC Congress in Botswana in October the French Baseball and Softball Federation (FFBS) and the South African Baseball Union signed a partnership agreement. The agreement includes two key elements. First, the French National Team is going to travel to South Africa in November of 2018 for a series against the South African National Team. Secondly, South Africa is going to participate in the next edition of the Yoshida Challenge in 2019. France and South Africa last faced each other during the 2012 World Baseball Classic Qualifier in Jupiter, Florida.
