Max Kepler leaves Game on Saturday with minor hip injury

Posted on September 24, 2017September 24, 2017 by philipp

Germany’s Max Kepler was replaced in the second inning in Saturday’s game against the Detroit Tigers after suffering what is believed a minor hip injury. He slipped on a throw to home during the bottom of the first. The outfielder of the Minnesota Twins will be reevaluated on Sunday morning and could return to the lineup for the series final.

“[Kepler’s] OK,” Twins manager Paul Molitor said. “I think he just took an awkward fall there. We’ll check him out in the morning. I don’t think it’s anything major. I just think there was some discomfort when he tried to swing a little bit. It was enough to be cautious and get him out of there. I don’t know if it’s more muscular, he might’ve torqued it funny.”

Kepler is batting .244/.315/.430 with 19 home runs and 68 RBI in 142 games this season.
