This past weekend the quarterfinals in the German Baseball-Bundesliga got underway with the top four of the Interleague round making the most of their home field advantage and picked up two wins apiece at the start of the best-of-five series.
The Heidenheim Heidekoepfe used strong pitching for 3-0 and 6-2 wins over the Mannheim Tornados. The Bonn Capitals prevailed 8-3 and 4-2 over the Solingen Alligators. The Munich-Haar Disciples celebrated a pair of 2-1 wins over the Untouchables Paderborn with the second being decided in extra innings. And the Mainz Athletics downed the Dohren Wild Farmers 4-1 and 13-5.
Games three to potentially five will be played next weekend.
