The Italian Baseball League semi-finals started on Friday with the first two games of the best-of-five series. ASD Rimini defeated Unipol Bologna 6-5 in ten innings. Rimini overcame a 0-4 deficit in the last two innings and then scored twice in the top of the tenth to secure the win. Nicola Garbella had the crucial hit with a two-run single in extra innings. Riccardo Bertagnon also drove in two for Rimini. Osman Marval went 4-for-5 with two runs and three RBI for Bologna. Ricardo Hernandez struck out five in four scoreless innings of relief for the win. Filippo Crepaldi got charged with the loss.

The second semi-final on Friday was even more dramatic. T&A San Marino edged out Angel Service Nettuno 1-0 in 13 innings. Lorenzo Avagnina scored the lone run of the night through a walk-off RBI single by Jose Ferrini with two outs in the bottom of the fourth extra inning. Carlos Quevedo, Fernando Nieve, Andres Perez and Jose Ascanio combined to keep Nettuno to five hits in 13 scoreless frames. Ronald Uviedo took the loss after throwing 5 2/3 innings in relief.
