In the German Baseball-Bundesliga the regular season is entering its crucial stage. In the north the Untouchables Paderborn swept the Hamburg Stealers in a key matchup for a spot in the playoffs. The Solingen Alligators had to settle for a split against the Dortmund Wanderers. With the split and their own two wins over the Dohren Wild Farmers the Bonn Capitals meanwhile clinched first place in the northern division. Sascha Koch threw a no-hitter in game one of the doubleheader, allowing just one walk in nine innings, while striking out 15.
In the south the Mainz Athletics and Munich-Haar Disciples shared wins in a two-game set. Game two was decided by a two-run home run in the 13th inning by Nate Thomas. The Mannheim Tornados inched closer to clinching a return to the playoffs with a sweep against the Stuttgart Reds. The Buchbinder Legionäre Regensburg and the Heidenheim Heideköpfe celebrated lopsided wins over the Bad Homburg Hornets and Saarlouis Hornets.
