Italian right-hander Alessandro Maestri could be headed to Taiwan for the 2017 season. According to a Twitter post the Uni-President 7-Eleven Lions of the Chinese Professional Baseball League are talking to the pitcher. After beginning his professional baseball career with the Chicago Cubs organization he has been playing in Japan and South Korea the past few years. Last year he was cut midway through the season by KBO’s Hanwha Eagles after posting an ERA of 9.42 in 28 2/3 innings.
