Kinheim secures regular season title in Dutch Major League

Corendon Kinheim secured the Dutch Major League regular season title with a 10-0 win over Mr. Cocker HCAW last Tuesday night. Kinheim (33-7) completed the season a half game ahead of Door Neptunus(32-7-1) which rallied for a 7-4 win over ADO.

Ace pitcher David BERGMAN look primed for the European Championships fanning seven hitters while throwing six scoreless innings to get the win. Another national team selection – catcher Tjerk SMEETS – had two hits including a homer and four RBI’s. Kinheim (33-7) placed a league-high seven players on the national team roster.

Dutch power Neptunus (32-7) needed four runs in the ninth inning to close the regular season with a 7-4 victory over ADO (15-24). Gregory GUSTINA pitched two shutout relief innings to gain the win. ADO’s national team ace Rob CORDEMAN pitched five solid innings and left the game with a 4-2 lead but got a no-decision.

Konica Minolta (22-17) scored a pair of runs in the seventh innings to overcome a 1-0 deficit and deal Amsterdam (21-18) a 2-1 loss in their regular season finale. Nelson SANTANDER allowed just three hits and one run over seven innings to register the win while Roger KOPS picked up the save.

In other Dutch Major League action, Sparta/Feyenoord (13-25) used a 15-hit attack to down the Almere Magpies 10-6. Ronald DE BONT pitched four solid relief innings to secure the win.
