The 2016 Holland Series between Curacao Neptunus Rotterdam and L&D Amsterdam is scheduled to commence this weekend with games one and two in Rotterdam. The game on Saturday starts at 2pm, the game on Sunday at 1pm due to a TV broadcast by NOS TV.
It is going to be a heated best-of-seven series between the two dominating teams in the Netherlands this year. Right prior to the European Champions Cup both teams were involved in a bench clearing brawl, which resulted in a series of lengthy suspensions for players on both sides.
Also the rivalry continued off the field as well, when Curacao Neptunus approached L&D Amsterdam’s third base coach Ronald Jaarsma about a coaching job for the 2017 season ahead of the Holland Series. Additionally Curacao Neptunus just announced that they won’t extend the contract of their current head coach Evert Jan’t Hoen even though he celebrated three consecutive championships with Rotterdam and now can win a fourth.
