Dornbirn Sharx win 6th consecutive Austrian Softball League

The Dornbirn Sharx are the old and new champion in the Austrian Softball League. On Saturday evening they won the final at the Final Four by a score of 8-0 against the Vienna Wanderers. The game was over after the first with Dornbirn scoring seven runs in the opening period. Conny Chwojka and Kendell Gorham kept Vienna to three hits in five scoreless innings. Gorham also drove in two, while Marla Reiter scored twice.

For the Sharx it’s the sixth consecutive title and the 14th overall in team history. During the regular season Dornbirn had been ranked first with a 17-3 record. At the page playoff like final four the Wanderers beat the Vienna M-Stars 9-6 in the quarterfinal on Friday. Afterwards the Sharx beat the Crazy Chicklets Wiener Neustadt 13-0 in the first semifinal. Then on Saturday the Wanderers beat the Crazy Chicklets 10-3 to reach the championship game.
