The Austrian Baseball League final series has survived another weekend. The Diving Ducks Wiener Neustadt beat the Athletics Attnang-Puchheim 5-2 on home soil and reduced the deficit in the best-of-seven series to 2-3 after five games.
Attnang-Puchheim was sporting a 2-0 lead after four innings thanks to a two-run single by Martin Libiseller in the fourth. However the Diving Ducks scored five runs in the seventh to turn the score around. Moritz Scheicher tied the contest with a two-run single. RBI singles by Claus Seiser and Michael Vykoukal put them ahead. A balk call capped the rally.
Games six and seven will be played in Attnang-Puchheim next weekend.
