In the British National Baseball League the playoffs started on Sunday. In the first match the London Capitals eliminated the Essex Arrows 7-6 on a walk-off hit in the first extra inning. Afterwards the Capitals lost 2-12 against the Southampton Mustangs. The Mustangs had scored eight runs in the bottom of the fifth to blow the score wide open. Southampton now takes on the London Mets in the best-of-three finals at Farnham Park on August 27 and 28.
