Germany’s Markus Solbach is returning to the Arizona Diamondbacks organization. The 24-year-old right-hander had been released by the Diamondbacks at the end of Spring Training. He then joined the Independent League club Rockland Boulders, where he posted a 6-2 record and an ERA of 2.43 in ten starts.
It’s the second time Solbach is accomplishing this rare feat. He was released by the Minnesota Twins in Spring Training of 2014, joined Windy City in the Frontier League and impressed the scout to receive a new minor league contract with the Diamondbacks later that year.
Solbach, who has a 3.50 ERA in 73 games (38 starts) in affiliated minor league ball in his career, will be assigned to Visalia Rawhide in the California League.
