The Drop Bears and the International Stars celebrated wins over Czech national teams on Thursday, as the Prague Baseball Week continued with day three of the preliminary round.
The Drop Bears, a team from the United States, pounded the U23 team of the Czech Republic 16-5 in seven innings. They scored in each of the first six frames and cruised to an easy victory after the U23 team actually had opened the contest with a 3-0 lead. Nathan van der Linden, Jake Robinowitz, Ryan Battaglia and Taylor McKnight collected three RBI apiece. Devon Ramirez scored four times. Ivan Aubrecht had three RBI for the Czech.
In the evening the International Stars prevailed 7-4 over the Senior National Team of the Czech Republic. The Stars scored three runs apiece in the first two innings for an early advantage. Warren Stehn and Bryce Cherry had two hits each with Stehn driving in two. Jakub Hajtmar had two hits for the Czech Republic.
