Right-handed pitcher Kevin Heijstek of L&D Amsterdam is going to miss the rest of the 2016 season due to an injury he suffered last week at the European Champions Cup in Rimini and San Marino. According to Marco Stoovelaar he has a tear in his left hamstring. During the European Champions Cup winning ceremony in Amsterdam on Sunday he noticeable limped. Right after the final, where the injury occurred during a play in the sixth inning, it was not considered to be as serious. Heijstek confirmed in the report that he will be out for the remainder of the season including the postseason and the European Championship in Hoofddorp. He hopes to be back in time for the World Baseball Classic next year.
