Austrian Baseball League: Vienna Wanderers defeat Vienna Metrostars on Tuesday

After finishing in eighth place at the CEB Cup in Rouen and Chartres, France last week, the Vienna Wanderers returned to the field in the Austrian Baseball League on Tuesday evening with a 6-3 win over the Vienna Metrostars.

Christian Tomsich, who pitched the Wanderers to a 2-0 shutout over the Montpellier Barracudas last Wednesday in Chartres, went eight innings to pick up the win. He issued nine hits, three runs and a walk. Felix Zimmerle doubled twice and drove in three runs. Hubert Weiser took the loss.

On Sunday the Metrostars had split a doubleheader against the Stock City Cubs. Already on Saturday the Diving Ducks and the Athletics Attnang-Puchheim shared wins.
