After losing shortstop Trey Stover to season-ending injury, the Mainz Athletics made an addition for their offense. They signed Belgian outfielder/pitcher Thomas De Wolf, who was released by the independent league club Evansville Otters a couple of weeks ago. Previously to going back to North America De Wolf played for the Stuttgart Reds in the German Baseball-Bundesliga.
