Unipol Bologna has added a new closer to the roster for the 2016 season in the Italian Baseball League. The 37-year-old former Major League reliever Scott Patterson is coming to Italy. The Oakdale, Pennsylvania native made four appearances for the San Diego Padres and New York Yankees in the big leagues in 2008. In the minors he had an ERA of 2.93 in 279 games. Last year he played for the Lancaster Barnstormers in the Atlantic League.
