In the Swiss Nationalliga A the first game day of the 2016 season was played last weekend. The Jona Bandits, which got promoted to the first division in Switzerland, kicked off the year with two victories over the Wil Devils. The Therwil Flyers also celebrated a sweep, defeating the Zurich Challengers. The Bern Cardinals and Lucerne Eagles split a twin bill.
