With Mexico’s roster all four teams for the upcoming World Baseball Classic Qualifier in Mexicali have been known. Germany, Czech Republic and Nicaragua published their teams earlier this week. Mexico is managed by Edgar Gonzalez. His brother, Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Adrian Gonzalez, is the most prominent player on the team.
14 of the 28 players on the roster are players from MLB organizations, the other 14 from the Mexican League. Officials of the Mexican League and the Mexican Baseball Federation reached a last-minute agreement about the participation of their players. Besides the Gonzalez’ brothers other well-known players on the team are left-hander Oliver Perez and catcher Humberto Sosa.
