The Buchbinder Legionaere Regensburg announced two new acquisitions for the 2017 season in the German Baseball-Bundesliga. Blake Hassebrock and Jan Tomek reinforce the pitching staff after Gianny Fracchiolla, Wolfgang Reitter and Lucas Dickman have left the club.

Hassebrock is a former Minor League pitcher with the Oakland Athletics. Between 2010 and 2014 he played affiliated minor league ball for the A’s. He got to Triple-A, but missed out the big leagues. After his release he continued his professional career last year with the Lancaster Barnstormers in the independent Atlantic League.

Tomek is coming from Czech Extraleague club Arrows Ostrava. The Czech national teamer will be used flexible by head coach Ivan Rodriguez, as he is capable to start or to pitch out of the bullpen. He was teammates with former Legionaere players Boris Bokaj and Petr Cech with Ostrava.
