After a month long selection process with more than 10 candidates, Venezuela has found a new manager for its World Baseball Classic team. Detroit Tigers first base coach and former shortstop wizard Omar Vizquel has been selected to manage Venezuela in next year’s WBC. Vizquel played 24 seasons in the big leagues and won a Gold Glove 11 times. He played for Venezuela in the 2006 World Baseball Classic. He is succeeding Luis Sojo at the helm.
