The U-21 Baseball World Cup has been expanded to U-23 to include more top young players, effective for the next edition, the world governing body has announced.

Baseball’s inaugural U-21 world championship was launched in 2014 — won by Chinese Taipei — allowed for a limited number of U-23 players to participate.

The next edition will be the expanded “WBSC U-23 Baseball World Cup” and is scheduled next year in Sinaloa, Mexico from 17-26 June.
