Italian Baseball League champion ASD Rimini has signed 23-year-old catcher Antonio Giovannini. E is supposed to share the workload behind the plate with Riccardo Bertagnon. He has played for Arezzo and Grosseto in the past. He had knee surgery in September, but should be back on the field in January and therefore ready for the 2016 season. He batted .394 (OBP .440) in 28 games this year for Grosseto.
