At Tienmu stadium in Taipei City the Netherlands lost 2-3 against the United States on Friday in their first of two exhibitions against Premier12 foes. The Dutch team will face the Dominican Republic on Saturday. Adam Frazier, who had already two RBI earlier in the game, decided the outcome with a sac fly in the bottom of the ninth.
The Netherlands took a quick 2-0 lead through three innings after Chris Garcia and Andruw Jones scored on a double by Wladimir Balentien and a single by Yurendell De Caster. However Frazier’s two-out single in the third and his RBI groundout in the seventh tied the game.
Aaron Laffey and Jair Jurrjens started the game on the mound. Rob Cordemans, Juan Carlos Sulbaran, Loek van Mil and Orlando Yntema also pitched for the Netherlands in the game.
