Euro League Baseball shortens inaugural Season

Posted on October 27, 2015October 27, 2015 by philipp

Last Friday the European Association of Professional Baseball met in Amsterdam for another meeting to discuss the status of the Euro League Baseball. During the gathering the participants agreed to shorten the proposed schedule to three to four months and an 18-game regular season. Nine teams were present at the meeting. Games are now supposed to be played Mondays and Tuesdays or Tuesday and Wednesdays.

“We’re very happy with the outcome of this important meeting where all teams showed their support for Euro League Baseball having its inaugural season in 2016”, said President Wim van den Hurk according to the league website.

The Euro League Baseball is still scheduled to start in 2016 even though teams now have to discuss internally the new situation with the reduced program. The ELB had picked up some speed in the last couple of days with the launch of a YouTube Channel and a promo video and the announcement of Wilson and Louisville Slugger as preferred suppliers for game balls and wooden bats.
