Former Major League pitcher Calvin Maduro is going to serve as bullpen coach for the Dutch National Team at the inaugural edition of the Premier 12 in Taiwan and Japan in November. The 41-year-old played five years in the big leagues splitting time for the Philadelphia Phillies and Baltimore Orioles. With the Netherlands he participated in the 2004 Olympics in Athens and the 2006 World Baseball Classic. Additionally me made appearances in the 2003 Baseball World Cup and was named best pitcher at the 2004 Haarlem Baseball Week. He has been coaching since June 2006 and also worked as a scout. The Dutch coaching staff will be led by San Francisco Giants hitting coach Hensley Meulens, who will serve as manager, and current national team head coach Steve Janssen.
