Box score

After losing eight of ten games against Unipol Bologna during the 2015 season, ASD Rimini edged out a 2-1 win in game one of the Italian Baseball Series on Thursday evening. A RBI single by Lorenzo Di Fabio in the top of the fifth broke a 1-1 tie and eventually gave the Pirates the win. Riccardo Bertagnon scored both runs for the guests. Cesar Suarez crossed the plate for Bologna.

Otherwise the official attendance of 1,100 at Gianni Falchi Stadium in Bologna saw a defense oriented game. Alexis Candelario went 6 1/3 innings, allowing one run on five hits and two walks. Jose Escalona and Victor Moreno closed it out with perfect relief. Raul Rivero took the loss, conceding six hits, two runs (1 ER) and three base on balls in six frames.
