The semi-finals started last weekend and are tied after the first two games. On Saturday two pitchers were brilliant. Mike Bolsenbroek struck out 18 in a complete game one-hitter to lead the Buchbinder Legionaere Regensburg to a 3-0 shutout over the Solingen Alligators. Maurice Wilhelm hit a key two-run single and went the distance on the mound in a 5-0 win by the Bonn Capitals over the Heidenheim Heidekoepfe.

On Sunday last year’s finalists struck back. The Alligators took an early 4-0 lead and later held on to a 9-6 win over Regensburg. Nils Hartkopf drove in two. Philipp and Chris Howard hit solo home runs for the hosts. Tyler Lockwood pitched eight three-hit innings to lead the Heidekoepfe to a 10-0 win over the Capitals. Simon Guehring drove in three. Wilson Lee got charged with the loss.
