The European Association of Professional Baseball (EAPB) announced on Wednesday that the Bonn Capitals have sent its application to become a second German member in the Euro League Baseball. ELB founder and president Wim van den Hurk traveled to Bonn in early July to talk with the Capitals.
They are the second team besides the Buchbinder Legionaere Regensburg to be associated as ELB member. The Capitals use a facility, which hosted games of the 2001 European Championship and the 2009 European Junior Championship, but doesn’t has lights.
Additionally the Euro League Baseball states that the Haar Disciples have become “aspirant member”, which means that they will be invited to member meetings, but will not start in the inaugural season.
