CBS Sant Boi wins Copa del Rey

CBS Sant Boi has won the Copa del Rey last weekend. The team from Catalonia defeated reigning champion Tenerife Marlins 1-0 in the championship game of the Spanish cup tournament. Eric Izquierdo and Zael Honora combined to keep the Marlins to six hits and three walks in nine scoreless innings. Marc Carrillo scored the lone run on a single by Ruben Fente in the fourth. Carlos Miguel Sierra got charged with the loss.

Tenerife had reached the final with a 1-0 win over CB Barcelona. Sant Boi had edged out the Astros Valencia 3-2. The Astros then defeated Barcelona 7-4 to claim third place. The tournament was played in Sant Boi. The top four of the Spanish Division de Honor are qualified.
