An estimated 3,500 were in attendance for day two at the World Port Tournament at Family Stadium in Rotterdam on Sunday. Two games were played. In the afternoon the Netherlands defeated Curacao. In the evening Cuba entered the competition with a victory over Chinese Taipei.

The ceremonial first pitch prior to the official opening game between the Netherlands and Curacao was thrown by Rotterdam mayor Ahmed Aboutaleb. He as a Moroccan born and grown boy realized his “American dream” changing his life from a barefooted boy in the desert to mayor of a world port city, who recently was consulted in the White House by US president Barack Obama about the problems experienced by immigrant youngsters in western world. Aboutaleb told the crowd that he wants every young person to stay away from criminality and to find positive friends, who can give them a guide line in life.
