Atletico San Sebastian takes 2-0 lead over CBS Sant Boi in Spanish Division de Honor Softball

The best-of-five finals in the Spanish Division de Honor Softball started last Sunday. Atletico San Sebastian defeated CBS Sant Boi 2-0 and 9-1 to take a 2-0 lead. One more win and they capture the title in Spanish Softball. Games three and four are scheduled for Saturday, June 27. A game five would be played on Sunday.

In game one Elena Ayuso allowed just four hits and a walk in seven scoreless innings to lead San Sebastian to the 2-0 shutout. She struck out seven and won the pitcher’s duel against Raquel Fernandez. A RBI single and a RBI double by Rebeca Carrera in the fifth and in the seventh were the difference in the game.

In game two Atletico scored five runs in the top of the third to take a 5-1 lead on route to a 9-1 win in six innings. Irune Paredes went 4-for-4 with a pair of doubles and two RBI. Elena Ayuso collected two runs and also drove in two. Ane Barandiaran conceded four hits, a run and four walks in six innings for the win. Beatriz Parejo got charged with the loss.
