Posted on June 22, 2015June 22, 2015 by philipp

In the German Baseball-Bundesliga the Cologne Cardinals finally have ended their 16-game losing streak. They stunned the Hanover Regents with 2-1 and 7-4 wins to reach the win column of the 2015 season. With the two losses the Regents suffered a huge setback in their pursuit of the playoffs. They could have made up ground, as the Hamburg Stealers and Dortmund Wanderers lost to the Bonn Capitals and Solingen Alligators.

In the south the Haar Disciples celebrated 12th-inning win over the Buchbinder Legionaere Regensburg on Friday. Michael Stephan decided the outcome with a solo shot in the third extra frame. Haar had blown a 4-0 lead in the process and tied the game in the ninth. On Saturday Regensburg prevailed 11-1.The Mannheim Tornados and Stuttgart Reds also split a two-game set. The Mainz Athletics and the Heidenheim Heidekoepfe swept their opponents. Heidenheim’s Tyler Lockwood threw an eight-inning no-hitter for the Heidekoepfe in Tubingen.
