The German Baseball-Bundesliga offered a couple of surprises on the ninth game day. The Tubingen Hawks stunned the Haar Disciples with a two-run walk-off single by Clarence Brown in the ninth of a 3-2 game-one win. The Disciples rebounded with a lopsided win in game two.
Also on Saturday the Mannheim Tornados handed the Buchbinder Legionaere Regensburg their second defeat of the season. Michael Torrealba and Matteo D’Angelo combined to keep Regensburg’s offense off the board. Juan Martin added two RBI.
In the north Bradley Roper-Hubbert had four RBI to lead the Bonn Capitals to a 10-5 win over the Untouchables Paderborn. With the victory Bonn moved into a tie for first place in the standings with the Solingen Alligators.
