Home Run Derby ISL All-Star Game

Almost 1,000 people saw the All-Star Game in the Italian Softball League on Monday evening in Caronno. The ISL All-Stars defeated the Italian National Team 2-0. It was the first loss for Italy this week, which is also currently playing in the Tournament of the Republic in Bollate and Caronno. On Tuesday they will face the Czech Republic in the final.

Greta Cecchetti and Ellen Roberts were locked into a pitcher’s duel early in the All-Star game. Following a lengthy injury delay after a collision between Elisa Oddonini and Lara Cecchetti, the All-Stars scored runs in the fifth and the sixth to break up the scoreless tie on route to the win.

Prior to the ISL All-Star Game six players participated in the Home Run Derby. Priscilla Brandi won the title with a 4-2 victory over Johana Gomez in the final.
