San Marino, Bologna win on Thursday Evening

Posted on May 29, 2015 by philipp

T&A San Marino and Unipol Bologna were the winners in the Italian Baseball League on Thursday evening. San Marino edged out ASD Rimini 10-8. Rimini scored four runs in the top of the first, but a pair of four-run rallies got the Titans ahead 8-4 after three frames. The back and forth battle continued afterwards, but Rimini wasn’t able to erase the deficit. Carlos Duran, Francesco Imperiali and Simone Albanese combined for nine RBI. Giuseppe Mazzanti and Paul Macaluso had three RBI apiece for Rimini.

Meanwhile Bologna celebrated a 2-0 shutout over Angel Service Nettuno 2 in Rome. Alex Sambucci decided the contest with a two-run single in the sixth. Marquis Fleming, Salomon Marinez, Nick Pugliese and Raul Rivero kept Nettuno 2 to three hits and three walks in nine scoreless innings. Norberto Gonzalez got charged with the loss.
