Posted on January 24, 2009 by philipp

The new head coach of the SOLINGEN ALLIGATORS Andy Fleischacker arrived in Germany last weekend and took over practice with the Baseball-Bundesliga club. He welcomed three new faces, as the 17-year-old prospect Thomas Rubis comes back from the BONN CAPITALS into his hometown. The Dominican Carlos Mendez married a German woman will reinforce the pitching staff. Another 17-year-old newcomer, the Cuban David Fonseca, is going to begin the year with the farm team. The former player Oliver Kanthak will serve as an assistant of Fleischacker.

Shortstop Chris Beck is not returning for another round of SOLINGEN Baseball and leaves the team, as both sides couldn’t agree on a new contract. They are still looking for two new import players from the United States and hope that both will arrive until March. The ALLIGATORS also announced the exhibition schedule. They will start with a doubleheader in Bonn on March 3rd. On March 21st and 22nd the club will host the new team of their former pitcher Andre Hughes, MR COCKER HCAW of the Dutch Hoofdklasse, for two games. SOLINGEN completes the warm up round with a doubleheader in Mainz on March 29th. They open the new season at home on April 5th against the HSV STEALERS.
