The Spanish Division de Honor Baseball started this past weekend with four doubleheaders. Baseball Navarra celebrated a pair of shutouts on the road against CB Viladecans. Yosue Castellano, Andres Casado and Hector Perozo combined to keep Viladecans to six hits in two games. Emmanuel Febles scored four runs in his return to Spain.
The Astros Valencia also celebrated a sweep away from home, dominating CD Pamplona 9-5 and 15-0. Oscar Angulo had a pair of four-hit games for his new employer. Blake Ochoa hit a home run and scored four runs in game two.
The other two matchups ended with splits. Jorge Balboa struck out 12 in nine scoreless innings to lead CB Barcelona to a 4-0 shutout over San Inazio Bilbao in game one of their twin bill. In the second match Bilbao overcame a 3-7 deficit on route to a 9-7 win. Yasiel Pino struck out five in six scoreless innings of one-hit relief.
The Tenerife Marlins and CBS Sant Boi also shared wins. Sant Boi prevailed 2-0 in game one behind a complete game shutout of Zael Honora, edging out Leslie Nacar and Andres Perez. Juan Luis Salazar had three RBI in a 7-4 win for Tenerife in game two.
